Invisibility, Blinking & Snatching Items

If a character were invisible and had the blink spell active on her, would she need to make an attack to snatch a loose item off of a pc? If an attack roll is needed, then what better means is there of snatching stuff while remaining unseen?

Taking an object requires a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check, followed by an opposed Spot check on the pickpocketee's part against the result of the Sleight of Hand check. They get the Spot whether your SoH check succeeds or not. The PHB and Rules Compendium don't say anything about modifiers to the Spot check DC, so it'd be up to your GM as to whether invisibility/blink help any. If you want to improve your chances, boosting your SoH check result seems like the only way to go with the RAW.
