Invisible pants? I had the same dream! Also it was the day of the final exam and I hadn't studied at all.

I would say that both the ring and clock of invisibility are extremely powerful in the early game. When legendary items come into play is in usually the final stage of play. When you reach level, the monsters you are dealing with have True Sight, Termer Sense and Blindsight. At this point invisibility is useless. So, the questions, where do people think that these items are useful but not game breaking?

Let me flip the question: Why do you only look at it's use in combat, or at the very least against specific monsters which might be out on an adventure but not in places like cities.

@highwaymanrt66 welcome to the site, stay awhile. If you care, you can use the edit button on the clock of invisibility, or everyone will know what you mean.

I saw clock instead of cloak and thought no wonder kids these days cannot read a clock. Technology has made them invisible.

In a city, thief themed campaign where stealth is central to many adventures, a ring of invisibility is invaluable. Imagine being able to stake out a location or follow a mark. No need to worry about duration or using spell slots. Activate it without needing to cast a noisy spell.

Being chased by the police? Round a corner and put on the ring. It makes so many challenges easy.

At least with a spell or potion you need to time its use and decide when best to use the resource. And then maintain concentration
