I was 'inspired" by the KotD comic with the "emergency use" ring of invisibility. To me it was little worse than finding gem based treasure in the den of a large carnivore, one has to know where it had to have been. In fact, enchanted gizard stones for reptilian humaniods sound like a good idea.Piratecat said:Yeah, internal usage of ioun stones is just... odd. And not for my game. Just what rangers do with that huge bonus to track is another off scene thing. Your character can know what your quarry has been eating, but do you really want to?
It actually does. The "Estimating Magic Item Gold Piece Values" table contains a row that says:werk said:Traditionally, you could have as many stones in use as you could acquire. The SRD is silent on the issue, one way or the other.

Errr... can't play DnD without them?werk said:players... <shakeshead>

Protective and sexy!werk said:While it may deflect gnats or mosquitos (infinitely useful at times), I don't think it would help his AC any more than wearing fish-net stockings under his plate mail would 'provide another layer of protection' and increase his armor class.
