I've always played that you can stick only one ioun stone on your forehead. I've always liked people with glowing stones stuck to their forehead. (they are still slotless).

Right now she has the Monk's belt. I don't have the miniature's handbook, but I don't think she'll want to give up the monk's belt if she has a choice.Shin Okada said:Multiple Ioun Stones are good. But if that monk want multiple stats increased, try Belt of Magnificence in Miniatures Handbook.
I think our party ignores what we look like more than most. We concern ourselves with what we do and say and what our abilities are... that is about it. It would be nice if ioun stones were cheaper, but our party has never tried to get custom items made so I have no idea what the response from the DM would be to a request for a slotless +X Wisdom item. It is quite easy to find anything listed in the DMG though... (excluding artifacts).Thanee said:I don't want any of those... how stupid does that look, anyways, to have one of them buggers swirling around your head all the time; and everyone can simply blow them away and you have all the precious money wasted.
No, thank you!
If they were cheaper than real slotless items at least...
Scion said:ioun stones are generally pretty weak so not hard to break (note, they should still be treated as attended and gain all benefits as such, so no area of effect spells taking them all out) but any attack against an ioun stone is one less against the person with the stone. So, while it may cost them money it may just save their life, sounds like a good tradeI should get a bunch, make them look very flashy and dangerous (but actually just cheap knockoffs, and 'hope' that someone will attack them instead of my guy!

Ioun Stones: These crystalline stones always float in the air and must be within 3 feet of their owner to be of any use. When a character first acquires a stone, she must hold it and then release it, whereupon it takes up a circling orbit 1d3 feet from her head. Thereafter, a stone must be grasped or netted to separate it from its owner. The owner may voluntarily seize and stow a stone (to keep it safe while she is sleeping, for example), but she loses the benefits of the stone during that time. Ioun stones have AC 24, 10 hit points, and hardness 5.
Moderate varied; CL 12th; Craft Wondrous Item, creator must be 12th level.
