(IR) A special request to all who were in the IR, who are interested

First Post
Edena_of_Neith here.
Greetings to all of you. I hope things are well, everyone. It has been a while since our 3rd IR.

I have kept the complete records of all three IRs, in rough form.
That is to say, every word said by every player is in the record.
However, all the other things are there: The ENWorld documentation and etiquette, the names and dates of postings, and so on.
Messy, but complete.

I am looking for someone who could convert the 1st and 2nd IRs into story form.
That is, to read what was written, and write it down in generalized story form.
The result would be a fairly long story, I suppose, but it would be much easier to read than the actual IR was, and we could then show the thing for all the world to see.

What I'm proposing isn't easy or quick, and I myself cannot do it right now.
I can, however, e-mail the entire text of the 1st and 2nd IRs to anyone interested (it will be a monumentally big e-mail, since I cannot compress it ... I could send it in chunks, I suppose ...)

Is there anyone interested in doing this?
If you are, you get all the credit. Period. By all means. I would just be happy to have the story to read, in story form.
I just want to read the story we wrote, you and I.

The 3rd IR is possible ... I have the full text of it in storage.
If someone wants to take it on, I'd send the text (bit by bit) to whoever wants to take on such a monumental task.

Edena, Kalanyr:

My schedule will get a bit busier soon, however I might be able to help with proofreading, editing, and in a few other ways. Since this will not be expanded into a novel, but summarized there are a few things that I can see to make each IR more manageable in story form.

First, I noticed there were several commentators in the 1st IR. While they were part of it, there actions did not seem to directly impact the story very often. When there was an impact to events, such as the sudden revival of what would later be the Technocracy, it can be summarized.

Secondly, it might be possible to cut out parts of the story and out of character reactions. The rules posts in the 3rd IR can be eliminated for story telling purposes.

It might be wise to break the stories into manageable units. For example, one story for the 1st IR, or maybe break it up into certain events. (Before and after the Karsus Avatar spell was cast is one division.) Similarly, the 2nd IR can be broken up between the Trial of the Chosen and the WAR FOR TORIL, when former enemies stood back to back.

The 3rd IR could be divided into stories based on each turn, starting with Turn 0.

Edena, I sent you an e-mail with some suggestions. Tell me what you think of them.

Edena,

I sent you an e-mail with a few suggestions on how to make this a manageable process. As this is not an expansion into a novel, but a summary of parts of the IRs there are a few ways to handle it.

I think a series of short stories would be appropriate. For example, the 1st IR can be divided between the period before and after the Karsus Avatar spell was cast by the elves of Evermeet. A further way to break it down would be to make the collapse of the last truce the start of a new story. So, maybe two to three stories.

The 2nd IR could be broken into the Trial of the Chosen and the War FOR Toril, where former foes fought back-to-back to save their world.

The 3rd IR could be broken into stories based on turns. This would make it quite manageable.

A series of stories makes sense on another level. There were very few characters who were truly unifying elements in a narrative sense. Forrester and Reprisal provide this role to a certain extent, but as a single story it would perhaps be a bit difficult. (In the case of Reprisal, the characters changed from Ian Payne to Erika LeSage, so that is another narrative issue.)

Edena, check your e-mail for a few more suggestions.
