(IR) Concerning the third IR

You better believe it.

How do you think the Solistarim, way up in the remote Godspires, plan to wipe out the Flanaess?

All the major powers of Oerth long ago set up teleportation circles (has a look at the thread about how teleportation circles ruin campaigns, and chuckles darkly) and other permanent Gates to enable them to easily travel from Here to There.

They have also set up nasty deathtraps for those who would teleport Where They Are Not Welcome, too ... (chuckles even more darkly)

And, by the way ...

In THIS scenario, at least, teleportation will allow you to jump from one Crystal Sphere to another.

In other words, if Oerth wants to invade Toril by mass teleporting there, be my guest.

Please remember, though, before you do that, that the Torillian Interstellar Fleet may have something to say concerning that (considering this is a fleet of 21st century starships with nukes and particle cannons, they have quite a lot to say, too.)
But then ... one could always teleport ONTO said ships, and take them over ... if one could find out they existed (and Iuz knows they exist, and might spread the news.)

One more thing.
Before you complain about said Interstellar Fleet, I shall inform you that the Torillians developed high technology in the last part of the first IR thread, and then continued their work in the second IR thread.

If you wish to complain about the Torillian Interstellar Fleet, please talk to Reprisal.
He's running that fleet.

And I'm sure he'll be happy to tell your power, In Character, that if Oerth would only sit down and listen to the wise, reasonable, and enlightened United Commonwealth of Toril, you would have no need for war, and all your troubles would be erased - no more poverty, sickness, no nothing of the sort.
You might have to accept the Overlordship of Toril to gain all these benefits of course, and lay down all your weapons, and accept all Torilian law, and all Torillian custom, and of course you would have to allow the kender (of Krynn, who now live on Toril in great numbers) to freely roam your world without ever hurting them, and you would have to obey the Chosen of Mystra, and give up your native religions probably, but now ... that wouldn't be too much of a sacrifice for a lasting peace and harmony, would it??? (grin)

At least, the Torillians believed it was worth the sacrifice!
The first and second IR, prove it!

complain?

complain about this fleet? the thought never entered my head.

Actually, i think it's a cool idea (the fleet's existance, not accepting overlordship by toril).

For everyones convenece, I will repost the updated information for the pomarj, allong with some addenda:

Since the new IR thread is going to be set 30 or 40 years after the events discribed in the living greyhawk gaz, I thought i would send you this update ofn what it's ruler, turrosh mak has been doing with the region, so you can more easily incorporate this into your plans. All of this is subject to your approval of course and is extrapolated from the LGG.

1- First and foremost, Turrosh Mak consolidates his power by traveling the land and challenging the leaders of the hummaniod tribes. Defeating each in combat, he claims rulership of the tribe and incoporates it into his own.thus by the time of the IR, almost all of the humaniods in the Pomarj are under his direct control. Should another player also claim the Pomarj, it would be assummed that he controls any and all renegade factions which exist.

2- with the captured humans, elves, and other demi-humans from ulek and other conquered lands, Turrosh Mak enters into the slaving trade. Breeding slaves and selling them to Iuz, the drow, and scarlet brotherhood, he eventually becomes a major player in the slave trade.

3- Allong the northern and western borders of the pomarj, Turrosh mak construct a line of great fortressess. He also builds a good sized navy, and his pirates are greatly feared. He has spent a great deal of time and money training and equiping his armies and his navies. They are disiplined and feirce. they are trained in anti- elven tactics. Turrosh Mak has also attempted to find the most promising of his peoples and have them trained in the mystical arts. Turrosh still has his eye on Celene.
The pomarj has begun constucting primitive "Ironclad" ships. These vessels are still traditional sailing vessels, which have been heavly armored.

4- The pomarj maintains diplomatic contact with Iuz, the drow, and relucantly , the scarlet brotherhood. Turrosh Mak does not trust the SB, but beleives that he can use them to further his drems of conquest.

5- It is noted that Turrosh Mak has sent scouts into the suss forestseeking a lost city of the suel. If he has located this city, please let me know what was recoverd from it. thank you in advance.
What, if anything was found there Edena?

6- Any one or group which speaks out against his rule is hunted down, interogated( by any means neccessary, turrosh cares little for Human/demi-human morality), and then publicly executed, usually by burning or cruxifiction.

Out of curiousity, what level of familiarity with Greyhawk is required for this? I've barely read any of the books but might be interested in some elven group. someone has to balance out these evil people.;)

Thanks.

IMPORTANT

I have a request.

There are maps of the World of Greyhawk campaign setting (the Flanaess close-ups included) online.

I know they are online, but I do not have any of the URLs, unfortunately.

I am requesting that someone who knows one of these (or more than one) post the URLs to this thread.

If you would do that, then everyone looking at this thread could then go to those URLs and look at the maps of Greyhawk, and this whole thing might be a lot more fun.

Yeah, once people had the URL (or URLs,) they could bookmark it, and go back and look at it as often and as long as they wished.
Then names like Furyondy, Nyrond, United Ahlissa, and Zeif would start to make more sense to everyone.

This is a request. Could someone do this for me?

Please

Yours Sincerely

Hmm a mere 40 years not long for the drow, however the Drow of Oerth have tried the following during this time (What is successful is up to Edena)

1- Find the few good drow that exist (If none do, put helmets of Opposite Alignment on a small amount (say 50) LE drow)

2- Convince these now good aligned drow the we the drow of Oerth want peace with the elves

3- Send them off as messengers

4- See if we can work out an agreement to get more arms from our suppliers on Toril without being overly obvious about it, study these weapons and try to work out any improvement that could be made with either technology or magic. And while doing this see if we can find any other uses for the tech and magic we so discover. (In particular I'm looking for explosives)

5- Any slaves we have will be place in an arena and forced to fight the elite drow & giants in order to further boost the power of the elites and reduce any possibility of sudden treachery within our ranks.Winning slaves will be allowed their freedom. ( If they can survice the Underdark.)

6- Lord Kalanyr of the Drow will through great ritual and sacrifice of Priestess' of Lolth (Kalanyr being a male really dislikes Lolth) and bargaining with the Lords of the Limbo and the least evil Power/Lord of the Abyss (one who dislikes Lolth) attempts to add the power of an Anarchic half-fiend to his already formidable abilities. (DrM CN 20 Wizard/4 Fighter/4 Ranger/5 Archmage/Loremaster 2)

Edena:

I have decided to join the next IR Thread. I will take the part of the allied states of Keoland, Veluna, and Furyondy. I will take a day or two to figure out some preliminary actions. I hope more people sign up for the thread. I look forward to a lot of fun.

Is it alright if I conduct e-mail correspondence with those parties I wish to talk to before hand?

Also, has anyone taken Verbobonc. Highfolk, or the Principality of Ulek?

Friends, remember while we may be on opposing sides that we should be civil to one another. (Our characters need not be. In other words, I might call your character a slime-sucking scum bucket but that bears no relation to how I feel about you.)
