Gun Mage Special Qualities
Arcane Focus: With a functioning pistol, the can ignore inexpensive material components, worth less then 100gp. Additionally, any “ray” spell cast by the mage can be focused down the barrel of his pistol, and use his pistol’s attack bonus to hit (including any for Magic, Weapon Focus, Masterwork and Accurate upgrades). However he can not fire the pistol at the same time. Normal pistols take damage each time this is done, but Magelock pistols do not.
Bond with Magelock Pistol: Gun Mages can bond with the strange metals used to create Magelock pistols. Doing so takes one day and costs 100gp worth of material. Gun Mages may only bond with a number of pistols equal to their charisma modifier.
Special Abilities of Magelock Bond Pistol (2nd level): Hardness +1, HP +2, Alertness (the touch of cold magelock pistol sharpens the senses, so while touching a magelock pistol, the Gun Mage is treated as having the Alertness Feat), Spell Link (any personal spells cast by the master also affect the magelock pistol)
Spells: Gun Mages cast spells like Sorcerers, but they have their own spell list.
Reinforced Runes: As a gun mages powers grow he learns arcane secrets to reinforce his magelock pistol to withstand some of the punishment of channeling magical energy through it. For every 50gp in material and one day spent carefully carving runes into the pistol, the gun mage may increase the pistol’s hardness by 1 point to a max of 15. For every 100gp of material and one day’s time, the pistol’s Hit Points can be increased by 1 point to a max of 16. These stack with bonus from Bond Magelock Abilities.

Appearance: Zamdu'uk stands just over three feet tall. His greyish-green skin is set off by his bright blue traveller's jacket and black tricorne hat. At first glance, one might mistake him for a pirate. Unlike most gobbers, Zamdu'uk keeps himself well-groomed and his clothing in immaculate condition. He is hairless; an unfortunate accident with an early firearm experiment burnt most of it away, so he chooses to regularly shave all his body hair (eyebrows and all).
Personality: Zamdu'uk takes his calling very seriously. He has been gifted with a rare talent, a talent that many learned wizards frown upon. In return, he scoffs at their wasted efforts; why study endlessly in some musty tome for access to power that he already possesses? He is prideful, despite his small stature, and struggles for recongition and status in a human-dominated society. In fact, Zamdu'uk is a bit of a hypocrite, struggling for a place in an organized society while loudly professing his disdain of organized societies. The religious sector is his current preferred target of his snide comments. "Slaves to the masses" and "bastions of lies, hypocriscy and corruption" are his favourite desrciptions of the clergy and their houses of worship. As to why he is so opinionated, well, why not just ask him...?
Background: Zamdu'uk hails from a fringe Gobber community inside the Cygnus capital. This community consisted mostly of junk scavengers trying to eke out their survival by creating and repairing devices for the common people. The sad part is that the large percentage of the wealth does not come from common people. The wealthy people can afford new things when old things break, new "employees" when old employees outlive their usefulness, and they most certaily can afford to live far away from the pile of junk they regularly and carelessly create. Tired of watching his kin sweat and struggle for their meager scraps, he decided it was time that he venture into the human world and take back what the rich people had taken: the gobber's dignity. He promised that he would one day return with enough wealth to start a "real" workshop, one that would give work to many gobbers and allow them to create something they, too, can be proud of.
