Oh, I suppose I should've added that I'd appreciate it if John and Vinny (not that you're ever here) avoid this thread...thanks.
We're kicking off a new IK campaign in a couple weeks, and I've got an interesting character idea that I'm going to run with. I thought I'd pitch the idea here and see what ideas you all can add to the mix...
Aiden Turlough is a bit of a con man. He passes himself off as a weapon/armor/gunsmith, selling his wares to whomever he can. Truth be told, he's not that good at it. He's got some skill (a couple ranks plus a high INT bonus) in those craft skills. Where his real talents lie is in the "thiefly" arts. Not so much so that he can break in and steal for himself, but rather so that he can design "security measures" to prevent others from doing just that. Or at least, that's in his future. Such talents, however, draw too much attention from the local milita and whatnot, so he maintains a cover as a weapon/armor/gunsmith and claims to be a skilled pistoleer.
I'm looking for interesting avenues to take this character down. I'm playing him as neutral good, and have no intention of having him be evil...or even true neutral for that matter. He's not going to "backstab" the party at any point, so forget any of those ideas. Anybody have any interesting thoughts about such a character concept?
Mechanically, we're starting at 4th level and I'm going with a level of rogue, followed by 2 fighter levels and another rogue level. Aiden is a human, and we use the UA flaws so I will get 4 regular feats and 2 fighter bonus feats. He'll have Jack of All Trades (CAdv), Skill Focus: Bluff, Exotic Weapon (small arms), and Improved Initiative. I'm not sure what I want to do with those last two feats, however. Any ideas? Possibly Combat Expertise and Improved Feint...
Down the road he'll take another level of rogue before jumping into the Second Story Man PrC (Iron Kingdoms)...
Thoughts? Comments? Snide remarks?
