Iron Kingdoms Game (OOC)

Sorry, Ranger Rick, as far as I know there are no online places that give you character creation information.
I guess your options are either to create a standard D&D character, or else to ask a lot of questions. :) Are you familiar with the setting?

Alex as I said in my opening thread, I am completely naive about this setting. I have only seen it mentioned around here. When I first heard it I thought it was a part of the old greyhawk maps/setting.

But I can fake my knowledge, after all I am running a warforge with out the books. ;)

OK so here is my VERY basic outline for my character idea...

Treal de'Quell, a human (from the Protectorate of Menoth) Sorcerer, who fleed his country due to that nations basic persecution of 'witches' (sorcerers, etc). He did not want to get burned at the stake of course! He has wandered up through Cygnar, working as a mercenary, etc.

Treal is a bit tall and lanky, with light red hair and blue eyes. He of course wears a dark greatcoat and carries a couple different pistols (depending on how much money we start with). He tends to only use his magic when he has to or when no one is looking, due to the general weariness of people towards sorcerers.

Hey Ranger Rick, what kind of character are you thinking? I can post some basics about some of the differnet areas if you need some ideas :D

Brief description of the below? I have never heard of them.

Iosan elves, Nyss, gobbers, trollkin and ogrun...bodger, fell-caller, gun mage, & ranger scout.

Is this a fancy name for a Barbarian? berserker

Is this a fancy name for a monk?? Order of Keeping monk

Is this a fancy name for a ranger? ranger scout

OK some of the basics...

Elves of this world are either Iosan elves (sort of a standard race of elves that are dying out) and the Nyss (northern or winter elves who reject the 'dying' out ideas and follow a winter god called Nyss)

Gobbers - this worlds goblins. They come in two type (can't remember right now), but they are basically the short, sneak and smart ones, and the bigger dumber ones ;)

Trollkin - kind of half-human, half-trolls. They are primitive, but not overly viloent (except vs. those whom invade their lands).

Ogrun - kind of this world Ogres, they are very militaristic and bound by oaths. Most are bound to the Dwarf nation and fight for them. They are big and mean, but NOT evil.

Bodger - Gobber only class, basically a mister Fix-It, they cobble all kind of tech together from junk that works surprising well!

Fell-caller - Trollkin only class, they are sort of the bards of the Trollkin, and they can yell so loud that it can stun or even kill opponents.

Gun mage - sort of a sorcerer who can use pistols as magical focuses (and their weapon 'familar' as a normal sorcerers famliar)

Ranger scout - basically a non-spell casting Ranger. Some of the stuff they do with this class I don't agree with BUT otherwise it is cool.

Yes Berserker is just a fancy name for Barbarian. There are very few barbarian people left except for the Trollkin, some tribes of Ogrun and a few others.

No fancy names for Monk, and there are two basic orders that I can't remember right now. One is LG and the other is LE or N I believe.

I didn't think the bodger was a gobber only class. I could be wrong though - maybe I didn't read that entry closs enough!

I could be wrong, but I thought I read it in the, Bodgers in the Iron Kingdom part. I don't have my book with me right now soooo ;)

Ogrun get minuses to their CHA which is important for the Gun Mage so it might not be the best choice... Gobbers do not get the minus so they are good for it :D it would be weird BUT I am pretty sure it is allowed and could be pretty interesting...

Can an Ogrun be a gun mage? or is that not a good idea?

How about a small gobber being a gun mage?
Nope, there are no ogrun gun mages, at least not in my Iron Kingdoms! :) Sorry.

Gobber gun mage would be perfectly acceptable, however.

Bodger is in fact not a gobber-only class. (Say that ten times fast). The only race-specific base class is the fell caller.
