Iron Kingdoms Game (OOC)

I too would be very interested in playing if there is room. I've been considering DMing a tabletop IK game and would like ot play in it a bit to get a better feel for the setting.

So what kind of characters would people be interested in playing? For those not in the "know" there are many available human ethnic groups, plus the dwarves, Iosan elves, Nyss, gobbers, trollkin and ogrun.

I'm thinking of playing the ogrun a bit different than what is depicted in the IK books. You start off with two levels in giant with the hit points, skills and feats that this entails. After that you have the +1 Level Adjustment, so that a first level ogrun fighter would be ECL 4.

Available classes are arcane mechanic, berserker, bodger, cleric, druid, fell-caller, fighter, gun mage, Order of Keeping monk, paladin, ranger scout, rogue, sorcerer, war-bard, and wizard.

Oh hell yes! I'd love to play in an IK game. I've read the Character Guide and World Guide cover to cover just salivating over the chance to play in this world.

So, yeah, I guess I'd be a little interested :)

Well, I guess I don't need to PM you about this like I planed on... ;)

Bob's really been pimping this setting so that alone would intrigues me but its one set of books I've never really done anything with so do consider me curious and interested.

I would like to have a good idea of what’s going on so I can read through that source material quickly and not keep the game held up. I’m pretty sure I have all the books minus the monster book(s) so I can pretty much read anything you deem important. I would hope you would give me a page number though.

Llaelese gunmage, thank you very much, who fled the area as the Khards moved in. Revenge and retribution against those mustachioed thugs is ever burning in the back of his mind, but he is now working to build up his strength and wealth so he can help the cause. Viva la Resitance!

I'm at my game session right now and don't have my IK books with me. I'll take a look at the books tonight after I get home and try to draw up a character sometime over the next day or two. I'm thinking about running a rogue. I'll have to look through the races though as IK has kind of been on teh backburner for me for awhile.

No need to rush. I'm still in the developing stages of the first adventure, so there's a lot still left to work out. It will probably be at least two few weeks before I am ready to begin a game. I do try to create my adventures around the PCs however, so if you come up with a character idea that would always be helpful.

That's a story line that could take us far! What with the war going on, the great Khardic Empire will surely play a role somewhere.

I'll try to come up with something by the end of the weekend if that's cool.

Well, as stated I'm still in the beginning stages of this, but the adventure will start off in the Cygnaran city of Ceryl, which is the second largest city in the country. The volozkya (or kingdom) of Khador has just invaded Llael, which caused Cygnar to declare war in return. At the moment thousands of refugees are streeming out of the doomed country, fleeing across the border into Cygnar and the neighboring country of Ord.

The city of Ceryl is very important to the war effort as it is the northern headquarters of the Cygnaran navy, and also the headquarters of the Fraternal Order of Wizardry, the largest, and most powerful society of wizards in the land. The FOW is vital to the war effort as they manufacture the cortexes for the warjacks, the hearts and brains of the constructs.

In terms of what you should read, I would suggest starting with the Iron Kingdoms Character Guide. There's a lot of stuff in there, none of which will be a spoiler for my game. Depending on where your character is from you will also want to familiarize yourself with the relevant chapters in the Iron Kingdoms World Guide.

In terms of specific page numbers, that really depends on what kind of a character you are interested in building. Let me know what appeals to you, and I will supply you with the relevent chapters.
