[Iron Kingdoms] I've got Monsternomicon, Vol.2!

(I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum - putting it here was my best guess.)

So, the long-anticipated sequel to (IMHO) the best d20 monster books has finally arrived. If you liked the first volume, I can only recommend the second one - from what I've seen so far, I like this book even better than its predecessor. It's basically a mixed monster resource / setting book, featuring:

- A foldout, full-color map of Immoren, including the Skorne empire
- Lots and lots of new creatures (finally we get stats for all those HORDES beasts!)
- A whole slew of unique new dragons and giants - the pictures alone make me want to spring these on my players ;). Realistically, though: they'll work better as background characters than combat encounters, given their high CR.
- Three new Skorne-only classes (paingiver, mortitheurge, extoller)
- History of the Skorne Empire; extensive information on culture and equipment
- New Pendrake fiction

I'm sure I haven't listed everything there is :). If you've got any questions, don't hesitate to ask them. I'm a little busy, but I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

Hot Damn!

Since anything less than the book in my hands will not be acceptable I'll just continue to squirm. (I know, I know ... FTMI)

How's the artwork? Up to par with the last MN ?

Yeah, the artwork in MN1 was awesome.

Does MN2 also have lore info and adventure ideas for each monster? Those things are what made MN1 so great IMO.

Devyn / GlassJaw: Yes and yes ;).

They've kept the MN1-style monster entries, with only minor changes - the most remarkable being the deletion of the "CR" line; it's now incorporated in the monster size/type line. Space saver, nothing more, I'd wager. Anyways, they didn't adopt the new stat block style (could they have? I'd guess so. But maybe the book was already far into production at the time WotC did the switch).

The graphics are b/w, as usual; very crisp and lots of detail.

Aeric: The ones I mentioned are named individuals, each with a sky-high CR ;). But there are also some misc. giant-types inside the book, associated with the Skorne, as you suspected.

I need to order a couple of copies for the store plus one for me this weekend since no one else got off their duff to do so. Sheesh!

Great Book.

I haven't had a chance to really read through it yet.

I do know that a lot of the monsters exist as Warmachine Minis.

Aside from the MM, probably the Book with the largest number of minatures available
