Is a bard inspired by his own song?

Technically, no.

However, most people think that is silly, since bards need all t he help they can get. As a DM, I choose to give bards a +1 circumstance bonus to the same rolls that his song influences in other people. He's "feeding of the energy of the crowd".

Well, I don't know what the rule calls for, but sing the national anthem or recite a passage from Longfellow, or Eliot. Do you get chills down your spine? Does it bring tears to your eyes? If so, you have just been inspired by your own song/poem.

That's the way I rule it.
