Is anyone working on an Aztec/Toltec/Mayan supplement?

Ala "Maztica?" I know the TSR setting did not do well comercially, but given the explosion of d20 work to supplement 3e I hope that somebody is working on a fantasy supplement for the Amazon basin cultures.

Anyone have a scoop?

If noone else is working on it, why don't you (with some other fans of the setting, like me) create "Maztica 3e" ?

I don't know how much I could help (Karathis being a major part of my free time) but I'd at least volunteer to comment on some things...

Sorta

There are only hints and fragments, but I did put some information and references to the Olmecs and the Aztecs in Skull & Bones. However, the information is on a culture / people that are mostly gone by S&B's time... except for some nasty Aztec "gods" that didn't die off with their people. ;)

At any rate, I think Selganor's suggestion is a capital one.

Well, in Natural 20 Press's Mythic Earth I'll be including information on South and Central American mythologies (and North American, and African, and European, Asian, Oceanic, Australian, Polynesian, Middle Eastern, and Modern mythologies, but I digress). The book won't, however, contain setting rules or guidelines for proper items, cities, etc. I'd like to possibly cover those items eventually, but my plate is full right now with the myths.

Ancient cultures of Central and South America (Inca, Olmec, Toltec, Aztec, Maya, etc.) have always been fascinating to me, although I never really made it all the way through the 'Popul Vuh' :) (However, I did at one point consider a Masters degree in Central American archaeology).

We've been toying with the idea of producing a basic worldbook for a fantasy campaign based there for some time now, but have always pushed it back due to our perceived lack of interest on the part of gamers in general. If there is sufficient demand for it, however, we will give it a bit more serious consideration and bump it toward the front of our product schedule to-do list ;)

RangerWickett: I await the final product of Mythic Earth with great anticipation. It sounds like it will be good!

Tropical Lands Sourcebook

Hello, all. My name is Daniel M. Perez, and I'm a freelancer currently working on a project for Monkey God Enterprises <www.monkeygodenterprises.com> which I think fits the bill of what is being discussed here.
The sourcebook, working title "Tropical Lands," takes a look at this type of climate/terrain and looks to bring it into the d20 milieu, detailing the climate, types of terrain/environments, how the standard d20 material is modified for the tropics, and new crunchy bits (skill uses, feats, equipment, spells, prestige classes and magic items).
It also presents an archetypical tropical setting based on the Caribbean and Mesoamerican areas, including a Maya/Aztec-like culture, the Arawuak and Carib tribes, and the infamous Conquistador-style newcomers, along with a nice dose of legend and myth hiding just out there in the jungle or the rainforest.
I am currently working on the book, so this is the perfect time to chime in and let us know what you would like to see in such a book. It is, after all, for you, the players, and we would love to hear what you have to say.
Monkey God has a forum similar to this one where you could drop by and talk to us about this project.

Check under the "Feedback" Section for the "Requests" folder. You'll see a "Tropical Lands" thread there for you to talk to us. I hope to see you there. Your enthusiasm can only make this project better.
