Is Dark SUN Sword and Sorcery?

Hijack's over, now, back to DARK SUN.

I think there's a need to note that some of this discussion of late has been riding the ragged edge of our guidelines about politics. I invite folks to please review The Rules, and avoid divergence into topics of a pollitical bent in the future. They are not appropriate for these boards.

Here are a few that we did at athas.org. There is other stuff in some of the old issues of Dragon as well - if you have the archive CD you can run a search and pull the pieces up quickly. I also recall reading some cool stuff in the 30 Years of D&D Book and am thinking that there might have been something in the 25th Anniversary Box, but mine is stored right now and I can't check. Anyhow, some links for you - I'm not sure that there's much on Barsoom here, but dig in anyway:
That's odd. Troy Denning specifically denies a strong Barsoom influence in that interview, other than subconscious. But as you say, it's confirmed in other sources. The Dragon #319 article on Dark Sun (as reported by Stan!) confirms an early Barsoom influence, for instance. And I know I've heard it somewhere else before too.
