D&D 5E Is Druidcraft useful?

Taken as they written, Druidcraft/Prestidigitation/Thaumaturgy are first choice cantrips for me. I love the possibilities.
I would like to add one effect for Druidcraft:
  • You instantly make a flower blossom, a seed pod open, a fruit ripen, or a leaf bud bloom.

Yeah I kind of love these spells. And I like that the effects of druidcraft are different than thaumaturgy or prestidigitation. It's obviously much more effective in the wilds. It'd be a first-pick for me. But stuff like this really depends on the type of campaign and the DM. If you're in a dungeon-delving hack-and-slash you might be better served with another cantrip - although I'd probably take it anyway even in that circumstance. ;-)

In Legacy of the Crystal Shard, our druid kept using druidcraft and related spells to help people (and aid negotiations) by helping crops grow, blessing the land, etc.

Spitballing some possible house-rule additions to Druidcraft:

* Identify the species of any natural plant or animal (as 1e/2e druid power)
* Identify water that is pure and safe to drink (as 1e/2e druid power)
* Sense the general emotional state and motivation of an animal within 25ft (hungry, afraid, protective, etc).
* Convince an animal within 25ft that is attacking due to hunger or protectiveness not to do so. This will not calm down animals that are trained to attack and are obeying the commands of their handlers.
* Offset prevailing natural weather conditions for a single creature, granting advantage on saving throws against heatstroke, hypothermia, catching a cold, etc

Thoughts?

i would allow that effect as an extension of the examples given

I can see it now: Farmers pick their fruit before it is ripe so they don't have to worry about it getting damaged in transport to the market. At the Market, a druid is paid to ripen all the fruit in the stall. Controversy breaks out about artificially ripened food.
