Mundane... Well, we've all gathered that Operation: Extreme Redundancy is again under way. Regardless of how tired this topic of conversation is, here's my two cents: The advice given so far is sound. It is up to the player to make it or break it. Make up your own storyline, place a post of your idea in these here handy, dandy forums, and see what comes available. Or, again reiterated, nosedive into someone else's storyline. This is roleplaying, not rocket science. That being said, what may steer some players away from this site is aforementioned ridicule. Have any of you stepped back and thought how your asanine teasing may make a player not want to play here? Immature IC and OOC remarks may make the membership list here dwindle, if not plummet. The "I'm so cool, I can tease anyone I want because I have more experience than you" BS has got to stop. Yes, ladies and gents, some of you may be part of the damn problem. Next on the list is the whole talking about a person behind his or her back. Yes, the targeted person does find out, and yes, that does tend to make a person feel wholly unwelcome here. If you do not like how a particular character is played...deal with it, or take your character elsewhere. Don't just sit there and badmouth him or her because your irl ethics get in the way of something wholly fictional. And if it's none of your business, be it IC or OOC, then don't get involved. Let the people already involved handle it amongst themselves. Your input won't help. In fact, it may make matters worse. IC and OOC relations go hand-in-hand here, be it for better or for worse. It may not be the ostracized player's attitude on things...it maybe the attitudes of those in the more experienced part of the ISRP populace. There's my opinion on things, and it stands regardless of how scathing it is. It's not entirely up to the n00bs to change things, but to everyone else as well.
