Well, even if WOTC doesn't bang out a new setting, I'm pretty sure that one of the 3PP's will. 3e had more settings than any other edition of the game. I doubt that will change too much.

It will be interesting though to see which model of selling a setting works better - the 3 book model or the paint by numbers one.

While maybe not a complete "setting" I would like to see various World-Builder books, which has lots of different sections you can slot in and out of a campaign setting to build it up.

So you would have a "Post-Apocalyptic Builder" it showcases various fantasy apocalypse scenarios and various ways races would survive, plot hooks, pre-generated NPCs, Factions, etc.

Another could be a "Technology Builder" where it goes from medieval to say 1900's in technology. With the book divided up to showcase each signifigant difference in technology and again how races adapt to this, plot hooks, factions, NPCs, equipment, etc.

I want a new setting or two, but not yet.

I want the rules to get a chance to mature a bit first.

I don't want a really great game with, I dunno, 30 core classes eventually? Only having a handful of them actually in a setting.

Also because my setting won't be easy to resubmit until after they release the Psionics rules at the least.

I would like to see a Jungle Setting based on Meso-American fantasy. I look forward to Ebberon and would love to see Darksun and Planescape make the cut!

I would love a setting from an atypical cultural standpoint.

A Native American setting or an African setting would be interesting, if tastefully done.

Or at least something with a broader range of influences than the standard.
