D&D 5E Is Neil Gaiman Wrong?

D&D is one of an infinite number of ways to model a wildly unrealistic fictional world. Using it to try to explain other fictional worlds and characters, e.g. Aragorn, is akin to the Superman vs Mightymouse debate in Stand By Me.

These types of arguments always remind me of an old joke.

Which mythical creature casts no shadow?
(All of them.)
That's the sort of joke that could introduce a metaphysics paper.

Whether this indicates the depth of the joke or the shallowness of the field of metaphysics is left as an exercise for the reader.
