Oh yes... I was just wondering what was the exact bases/sources, and if there was some areas like this.

The bibliography is rather long. Though the small font used to list em mkes it seem short it is anything but. Nyambe draws from the early articles of Dragon Magazine and there are several real world world references that were used as well.

Does Nyambe have a 'saharan/sahelian muslim kingdoms' area, and is it possible to do one with Nyambe stuff? I have an idea for a sultanate based on the great western empires perhaps also.

I believe their northeast Egypt fantasy equivalent is based off of Arabic ruled Egypt rather than Pharaonic style Hamunaptra Egypt. IRCC one set of the human backgrounds detailed is for there and there are hints of an Arabic style empire centered off the continent.

The main cultures have a spirit worship religion though.

Pretty much the whole continent. Yes, there are muslim equivalencies, though not many - a race, a nation. . . not a great deal else, from memory.

As far as 'northerners' go, there's just a rumour near the beginning of the book, that they have started to appear. And they're not friendly, it seems.
