Pathfinder 1E Is PAIZO becoming the next Wizards?

Mistype - while I don't think anyone on this thread openly hates them, there's certainly been a lot of issue with people being very dismissive at best towards them from time to time on these forums.

Sure, some people are dismissive of them. How does that even slightly equate with hating them? How is dismissing a company in the same league even as hating them?

I think pointing particular posters out would derail the conversation, so I'll just say a quick perusal of the thread bears the Professor's remarks out.

I am not seeing it. You're making an accusation about users here, others have said they don't see it, I am not seeing it, even Cirno says it was a mistype, so it's fair to ask what you are referring to. Where does anyone appear to hate Paizo?

I don't see any reason for Paizo to be hated. People may hate the rpg that they produce, but thats just a tool for their main products, the adventure paths and setting books.

I can only speak for myself, but again, it was a mistype. Other forums certainly have a lot of concentrated hate for Paizo, and it is indeed hate. Look at RPG.net or GitP.

As for these forums, I can't say for certain that people here hate Paizo or Pathfinder, but there's been a lot of hate aimed at Pathfinder. And a lot of dismissal towards Paizo as a whole at times.

Paizo is actually the new TSR. Of, by, and for D&D gamers.

Whether they will turn out to be better managers or will fall to the same fate (over expansion and letting in incompetent/uninterested partners for financing reasons, who then go on to purge the creators) remains to be seen.

If Paizo dies, it will be because they start making Buck Rogers stuff that nobody but their financier was. Just lke TSR. You heard it here first.

But if they make a Pathfinder kids cartoon, that means balance is restored in the Force, and all will be well for ever and ever.

Can we drop that "people at RPG.net hate Paizo" thing? Because it´s just your opinion, i disagree, and you cannot prove it because cross-board-flamewars and pointing at posts from other boards is forbidden. RPG.net doesn´t hate Paizo, they - if you can generalize that much - don´t like the changes in Pathfinder for the most part. But as i said: we really cannot talk about this withouth beginning to quote specific examples, and i´m pretty sure that is a no-no.

I'm sorry you think I'm wrong, but I really see no purpose in just suddenly deciding to believe you because you told me so. You can disagree with me all you want, I'm fine with that.

That said, I disagree with you. RPG.net, or at least the D&D section, hates Paizo with a fury.

Prof, I agree with you on the PAIZO hate at Rpg.net.

In fact I think that back when the PFRPG was announced, there were some posters here who were eager to urinate in the PFRPG corn flakes as well. It may not be hate (more like contempt), but if posters here can label other posters 4E haters for the most minor of dissent then what's good for the goose no?

Totally not getting involved here, but, you do realize that RPG.net was pretty negative about 3e D&D for the entire run right? So, a game which purports to continue 3e D&D is not likely going to be well received.

Just tossing that out there.

For the love of all the gods in the multiverse, i do NOT disagree with the Professor that RPG.net doesn´t like the PFRPG. I disagree that the people over there hate Paizo. As in, the company. Which is what he said. Which is what i disagree with.

Paizo hat =/= Pathfinder hat.

Technically, perhaps, but I rather think you are splitting hairs. Most people bringing this up really mean PFRPG. Which, as it is their flagship product, is not unreasonable.
