Is tactical Warlord really blowful?

There's no reason that you can't take Leaf on the Wind as a TacLord. It doesn't give extra bonuses to any Warlord build, so you're no worse taking it as a TacLord than as a Inspiring Warlord.

Anyway, once you hit a Solo (or an Elite, I suppose, with 2 people) with Lead the Attack, you'll understand the glory of the Tactical Warlord.

sense you think taclord isn't worth it for your 2 man group. and you think you'll really need some healing and cleric is out. then why not play a paladin should have enough healing for a 2 man group.

I'd considered Paladin as well, but the problem is that the idea is we are going to be a pair of bandits. He was going for a rogue, and we needed some healing. So, a paladin just didn't work, since he would be so heavily armored to make stealth very difficult. Cleric didn't "feel right" for bandits either, so that left warlord.

A taclord seemed perfect, since he could do hides plus INT bonus in place of heavier armor.

I suppose that the problem was that a Taclord really has to pump his INT to get the most use out of Tactical Presence, Lead the Attack, and Warlord's favor. Whereas, when I did my Inspiring Warlord, the CHA wasn't nearly as crucial. So, whereas my Inspiring Warlord could have an 18 STR, and only 14 CHA, and a decent Dex and Con; the Taclord seemed best with a 16 STR, 16 INT and slightly lower CON.

I was hoping that the Tactical Presence would give me more bang for the INT buck than it does. I think I prefer the Inspiring melee-monster better overall to the Taclord.

Well, if you don't think it's worth it, then don't take such a high INT. Lead the Attack and Warlord's Favor would still be +4 attack, even if Tactical Presence loses out due to rounding. Of course, INT is also your AC and Reflex...

And +2 attack on a big power certainly seems better than ~3 HP.

A cleric of Sehanine multi-classed to rogue would be a perfect fit as a leader in a band of bandits. Chain is only -1 to skill checks, and the multi-class feats for rogues in Martial Power give more options for the build. Righteous Might also comes as close to completely ensuring that your striker allies hit as you can get.

Alternatively, a paladin multiclassed into Rogue and wearing Scale instead of plate would still be a good fit for a group of bandits, since Scale doesn't have a check penalty.

I think overall the int based warlord is stronger than the cha based one, but charisma has come a long way in martial power. For example, there's a feat that let's a warlord add his charisma mod to his healing...that is huge right there.

Yeah, I saw that and figured that helped equal one of the main differences between Warlords & Clerics. My next thought was "Is Divine Power going to have a feat that allows all the Cleric's allies +2 to Initiative when they're nearby?" ;)
