• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

Is there a creature you've always wanted to play?

Grippli! (frog humanoids)

Taxabi! (cat people)

And now thanks to the Tome of Horrors, I can play them! :D

And with the Awaken Ooze spell in Dragon #304, I can now play a Teratomorph! (What the ECL on that would be, I cringe to think. Perhaps I should stick to a nice, simple stun jelly or something.)

I used a teratomorph in a weekend game I ran, awhile back. I used the 1983 information regarding the "Jungle of Lost Ships" as a foundation, adding aboleth eggs, otterkin, and other oddities. Granted, we drank quite a bit that weekend. :D

If you wouldn't mind beginning as either a cat or a frog, your PC would fit right into a campaign concept I am developing.

Nature of the Beast

I have several that I would like the chance to play. Over the years, I have had some opportunities to play these, but never in a lasting campaign setting:

A sherkasta rakasta (a half-tiger/half-human being) (from Dragon 247); an EX friend of my girl friend ran a game for a while... we haven't heard from any of that group in quite a while.

A pixie; I got to run Winky in one session and then everybody refused to play with him in the game, just because he thought that the party was attacking the crown prince...

A tengu; only one DM in the area is willing to allow samurai, regardless of race... and he's not very good as a DM.

A gold dragon; the gold dragon started life as a half elf, and then he botched a reincartantion scroll. Luckily, the dead character came back as a wookie even as I transformed. But now I can't find a DM willing to allow the character into a game, even with the epic level rules.

I have had opportunities to run minotaurs and half ogres, loads of fun.

I would have said Centaur... but then I remembered playing one of those... for short time... but I did.

I would say a Lycanthrope - Werebear. Beorning style. There was this wierd book where the main character became a Werebear when he went beserk... really like the book.

Krynn Minotaur Wizard of High Sorcery.

Other characters I would enjoy playing:

Centaur Barbarian

Beholder Mage (no, really! For a high-powered game)

Plus that favorite of all DM's, a Flumph Paladin.

An intelligent zombie, don't ask me why, I just think it would be fun and differn't. Mayve I've seen one too many george romero movies.
