Is there a d20 Steampunk setting?

I don't know about Sorcery & Steam, but Steam & Steel: A Guide to Fantasy Steamworks will hopefully be published by Horade before too long, because I've just finished writing the Beasts of Steel section :)

And it'll be fairly cheap to pick up too, since it'll be in pdf format ;)

Iron Kingdoms isn't truly steampunk, either, although it does feature some "steampunkish elements." Don't get me wrong: I'm a huge fan of IK and Privateer Press, but I wouldn't really call them steampunk either. I'm quite looking forward to Sorcery and Steam myself -- that's the book this year that I didn't know I needed until I heard of it...

Yeah, but what "steam" there is in IK looks so good! The iron lich looks like it could eat a normal lich any day of the week. If Privateer had been able to keep up the steam (pun intended) on their release schedule, Scarred Lands might have had a contender.

That's the first I've heard of it. Can you provide any more detail about what this is?

I agree; don't get me wrong and take the fact that I say Iron Kingdoms isn't really steampunk as any kind of criticism. It's a labelling issue, not a problem with the setting itself. I think Iron Kingdoms is quite probably the most interesting setting out there to date. But the fact that it still hasn't actually been released yet is a bit of a problem. :)

Heh, I may be writing it but I could never be one of those guys who puts the summary blurb on the back of books :p Here goes:

Steam & Steel is a guide to the use of steam technology in fantasy settings. It includes guidelines for the use of steamtech in various styles of settings, not just steampunk, as well as providing a steamtech system including rules for steamwork devices (from weapons, armour, and the kinds of equipment that an adventurer might use up to larger-scale devices such as steamwork printing presses, pumps, factory arrays and even oil rigs (!)), constructs, vehicles and even prosthetics - and it takes into account the possibilities that melding magic and the fantastic with machinery offer.

I'll need to work on writing a more appealing summary now that I've got most of the full draft written now :)

You don't need to make it more appealing for *me*... consider one copy already sold. Now hurry up and write! :) :D

Cheers :D Can't give a release date yet beyond hopefully 'the summer', but it's coming along quite nicely :)

Fantasy Flight Games will be releasing Sorcery and Steam in a couple of months. It will give you everything you need to play in a steampunk setting, without being a setting itself.

More info at http://www.fantasyflightgames.com

A Couple of Months!?! Ack!

I thought it was suppose to be out beginning of MAY. Don't tell me it's been delayed AGAIN. Grr...

Sometime in June is what it says. Not much detail, either, I'm afraid. This was that book this year that I had no idea I needed until I heard of it. :D
