Is there a template for this

First Post
I was wondering if there was a template that could be put on various creatures and humanoids to give them plant type qualities.

I am thinking of a campaign using Zugtmoy (sp) Demon Queen of Fungus. I am thinking of some sort of ritual that converts creatures into plant or half plant versions of themselves. The campaign will culminate with the party fighting the avatar of Zugtmoy (sp).

Thanks for any info

If you want something more WotC Official, however, use the Wood creature template from Manual of the Planes or you can use the Woodling template from Monster Manual 3.

I can't imagine why it would matter how official a template is, though. The Advanced Bestiary is super-extra-awesome.

I second Advanced Bestiary. Very good book with lots of template ideas. A little too heavy on Undead templates, but very good nonetheless. Also, though it is not a template book, the Magical Society Beast Builder book pretty much lays out all the figures/CRs for building monsters from scratch.

Some, like a goodly number of the guys I game with, don't use anything but WotC product.

Sad but true. :(
If the end product is a balanced monster, I don't think the players will ever know the difference unless they see the book and tear up the room and storm out of the house in a rage.

Ivy-Bound --> Glades of Death by Necromancer Games
Plant-Imbued --> Glades of Death by Necromancer Games or Tome of Horror 3 by Necromancer Games
Thorny --> Tome of Horrors 3 by Necromancer Games
Plantform --> Book of Templates Deluxe by Silverthorne Games

Depends upon which side of the screen you're sitting. If I'm running the game, I run it wide open, and everyone knows it- no problemo.

However, if one of the WotC-fogies is running, its usually Core + Completes only.

Whether or not someone uses 3rd party stuff is personal taste.
