Is there an "Age" factor to choice of editions?

Please vote for your favorite edition(s) by age group.

Out of the editions of D&D available so far, I like a heavy variation out of 3e best.

I am 49.

Use that information as you will. ;)

Looking solely at the numbers for 3E/4E:

1. Under 20 generally prefer 4E, but there aren't a lot of votes in this bracket.

2. 21-25 seem split 50/50.

3. 26-35 seem to prefer 4E by a large margin

4. 36+ seem to be the age group that prefers 3E

So you could say that:

1. The 3E generation is split evenly between 3E and 4E, though the younger end seems to prefer 4E.

2. The 2E generation overwhelmingly prefers 4E

3. The 1E generation prefers 3E.

I am in the camp with WizarDru and Wisdom Penalty. Game prep time is the big key here. Our group is mostly 40+, with some younger (my teenage son, for example). I'm fairly certain the players would be fine with 3E, AE, 4E--or for that matter, Hero, Burning Wheel, or any number of games--assuming that I had enough fun prepping and running it to not burn out. If your GM starts to fade, things can get bad, quickly.
