D&D 5E Is this possible in Eberron?

Tales and Chronicles

Jewel of the North, formerly know as vincegetorix
I got Rising last week and its the first time I own anything related to Eberron. I never was a big fan of the setting, but reading this book just gave me such a ridiculous amount of ideas to run campaign that I fell in love. The book, plus the templates for guilds from Ravnica is a wonderful mix for any DM.

Anyway, my question. I was thinking of running the main storyline of Dragon Age 1 set in Eberron (mainly because I see a resemblance between the Dwarves from the Mrorr Holds and the dwarves from Orzammar in DA) and I tried to see what creatures would fit the game.

- Grimlocks (MM), Dolgrim and Dolgaunts would make for great ''Darkspawn equivalent''.

And....I had in mind to have the ''Archdemon'' from DA to be an Daelkyr-modified lost dragon from Argonessen that was buried in Khyber for the last 5000 years. The daelkyr would have created an uber-aberation to lead their surface invasion force (the Blight) by corruption the imprisoned dragon.

Would this be possible in game-lore?

One thing to consider is the need to keep it all secret from any of the agents of Argonnessen. When the dragons heard about one of their kin breeding with an elf of House Vol, that info was enough to convince the Dragons to not only cease fire with the elves (who they were at war with at the time) but the dragons joined forces with them to scorch the earth in eliminating every member of House Vol. If the dragons even got a whif that and daelkyr corrupted a dragon into a kind of super weapon (and one that could spill draconic secrets to their daelkyr lord), I don't see them having a problem with pre-emptively destroying much of Khorvaire to eliminate the threat.

It sounds like a very good fit. I'd suggest starting the game in the Shadow Marches, with the Grey Wardens being a group dedicated to opposing the Daelkyr-worshiping Cults of the Dragon Below.

Not only that, but Khorvaire is set up pretty well for the whole "run around convincing everyone to put aside their petty differences to deal with the bigger threat" aspect of that game

That's exactly what struck me as soon as I finished the book.

For now this is what I have:

- The characters are saved from the gallows for reason X and conscripted by the half-orc Duncan the Gatekeeper who bring them to join a gathering army led by prince Caelen ir'Wynarn. The army is to face what some sages call a Blight; a horde of aberration emerging from Khyber to destroy the lands above at an old Dhakaani ruin. Its the 4th time in recorded history a Blight's happened. The Gatekeeper are supposed to sent a small delegation to join the prince, but his mentor and stepfather Teyrn Logain ir'Tyr is opposing any attemps to ask foreign nations for help because of its resentment for the non-victory of Karrnath during the Last War.
-> The party is sent to explore the Karrnwood to gather components for a ritual and find old treaties from the ruin of a Gatekeeper's watchtower. They meet Flemmeth, an old witch (night hag) with her Winter Eladrin adopted daughter.
->The army is crushed, betrayed by Logain who removed his troops in the middle of battle and accuses the Gatekeepers of killing the prince. Logain use its old alliances from the war to send Karnnath in a civil war, saying the Wynarn house isnt strong enough to oppose the Blight.
->The characters are saved from assured death by Flemmeth. They still have the old treaties from different potential allies who swore to help the Gatekeepers during the last Blights should another occur. Will they honor their old treaties and lend some help to the players to oppose the Blight before it reaches Korth and the rest of Korvaire?

Treaties:
- The Dwarves from Krona Peak -> The Hold is divided between Clan Mroranon and Soldorak on the Daelkyr matter. Both clans sweats that if the character can venture in the realm below to find the lost company of Paragon Branka who has disappeared while looking for her lost Clan Hold in the depths under Noldrunhold, and with her influence, gain the majority on the council, they will give troops to face the Blight.

- A clan of Talenta halfling will replace the wood elves from the game. The character will be given riders if they can exterminate a group of werewolves plaguing the clan, hidden in a ruin in a manifest zone to Lanmania.

- The wizards from Arcanix. which is currently under siege by demons serving Sul Khatesh. An order of Silver Flame templars want to purge the towers if the characters cant take over the academy before the demons slay the arch-magisters.

- The army of Lakeside, which has a big undead problems since the heir to the village governor has been possessed by a ghost who forced the kid to poison his father. If the players can secure the castle and save the kid, then travel to the Icetop mountains to steal an artifact from a sect of Silver Flame fanatics who think Tira's soul was reincarnated in an evil silver dragon, the governor will gave some troops.
