I am a player in a standard 3.0 greyhawk game. The dwarf got killed, and he had previously gone to the temple of the elf-god to demand healing (there was no temple of the dwarf god in the twon we were in). So my character, not being too bright, dragged that dwarven corpse over to the elf-god temple and asked them to raise him, in exchange for favours, etc. They agreed.

So the dwarf agreed to be resurrected, and now we have a dwarven servant of the god of elves! He is even thinking of shaving his beard!

I have never heard of this one, have you? Are dwarves everywhere shaking their heads and/or spinning in their mighty stone tombs?

so long as nobody told the elf!

I thought that had a chapter on its own in BoEF??
But enough of that... back to topic.

I dunno.. I think it depends on the character.
Does he/she take life debts seriously?
Maybe the player just has a strange take on dwarven honour?

I know I've never experienced dwarven PCs to be anything but "dwarven"
