Is your game/group a "good" example for D&D?

Evil\Occult? Depends on their level of sensitivity, I guess - some people might be offended by guys who wears shirts that say things like "Jesus Saves (All Others Take Full Damage)"

Now, Torm, I know for a fact that that particular comment was not aimed at me like a double-barrelled shotgun.

or was it? ;)

We have a lot of fun, and I don't believe there's any geeks or nerds in our group. Are there..? :uhoh:

Anybody who's worried that D&D is evil might easily get the wrong idea, though. Everyone in the group enjoy playing bad guys as much as they enjoy playing good guys. Current PC's are:

1) Half-fiend barbarian/blackguard pirate. Kills celestials (and everything else!) for sport. Lies a lot.
2) Drow rogue/assassin. Steals a lot. Fancies herself a slayer of gods.
3) Halfdragon sorceress. Mother of 4 wyrmlings; the father is a red great wyrm.
4) Demi-lich cleric (used to be a dwarf). Hobbies include torture and murder.
5) Elven wizard. Dreams vistfully of the days when he used to be a vampire and plays unspeakable games with his erinyes sex-slave.

Probably not the best group for the "D&D is evil" crowd to visit, all in all. :p Too bad our "exalted" campaign met with a TPK; that would have been the game for them!

1. and 2. : No, and I wouldn't want it to be. The groups that I've stuck with don't tone down the game in deference to wowsers or the cult of popularity.
3. Yes
4. Also thoughtful, complex and with striking imagery and narrative.

If the outside observer was looking for an involving and worthwhile grown-up pastime, I think we'd make a great example. If looking for things to complain about he'd find them.

Funny, but no - we actually had TWO people wearing different shirts that said that at our last game session this previous Sunday. :D

Our group, hmmmm...

The players? They are paragons of normalcy.

The DM? Well now, he's a freak.

[He's also out of town right now :) .]
