Looks real to me. Poly/Cotton stuffing and spray paint would be my guess. Very very nice.

I would have to agree it was probably made with cotton stuffing and spray paint.

Cotton or isolation wool with light sprayed black paint for the mushroom (with the cotton/stuff being glued to a cardboard tube for base shape, like a toilet paper's cardboard tube), and a range of ochre/brown/black for the shockwave. Great effect!
