So 1/1/23 here didn't drink a drop last night. Saving that for camping.

So we went for a walk instead. That whole exercise thing. Before Christmas wet two weeks then mid 20's Celsius.

Went to local ecosanctuary Orokanui.

About 500-600 metres up. Hills in distance go up to 1000 odd metres. Sister in law went camping yo there couple of weeks ago and got rained out.

The babies are around two months old. They were curious about humans but it wasn't feeding time.

So there's several kilometers of tracks. We had a kaka fly over head and perch on the tree in front of us. Lots of ferns and damp.

Pt 2

Kaka up close, lighting wasn't the best due to foliage. Kaka is a cousin to the Kea an alpine parrot. Cool bird.
