Item Creation Feats and Prerequisites

Where does it state that it does stack? You use caster level, and a multiclass pc does not get to stack their different caster levels for anything as far as I know. Prestige Classes OTOH, sometimes do stack though, but not a bard/sorc.

So, what, you use the highest level spellcasting class? Feats really aren't tied to any specific class, except for Special Feats. I don't see why the level requirements for Item Creation feats can't be met by total spellcasting levels. This sounds like a DM call, at the least.
