All I can find is quotes that say that you need a +1 enhancement bonus.

I know the passage you are referring to. Chapter 8, Magic Items, Weapons. What is the enhancement bonus they are talking about? Same page...

Magic weapons have enhancement bonuses ranging from +1 to +5.

What do you need to have a special ability? Same page...

A weapon with a special ability must have at least a +1 enhancement bonus.

What kind of enhancement bonus? See above. Is adamantine magical? Nope.

Much of the confusion surrounding adamantine is due to overanalyzing, but also vague wording of adamantine's very description.

I have looked everywhere for where exactly it states you need a "magical" enhancement but I just haven't been able to find it.

It merely states that you need an enhancement bonus, and adamantine gives you one when you make armor out of it.

You can consider the armor to be masterwork and to have an enhancement bonus of +1, +2, or +3 for light, medium, and heavy armors, respectively. The masterwork quality does NOT reduce a armor check penalty.

If you can show me where it says you need a "magical" enhancement to add special abilities, I'd like to know where, as far as I've seen all you need is any type of enhancement bonus.

Oh, please...

I don't want to cause any trouble for you fine folks...

I come here to ask questions about the rules, and that's all. I'm not looking for debate.

I have found that ambuguity is littered in this newest addition and it helps to come here (and other rules discussion boards) to get a second opinion on whatever subject is at hand...

I just can't find what kreynolds is referring to... By the tone of his original answers, he seems quite flustered that the subject even came up... But after a week of searching, I just can't find where it says "magical."

I'll put the question to the Sage and see if I get a response. Although that might bring another round of debate, I count his rulings as pretty precise and found that he/they clear things up quite nicely.

If there is another thread that has discussed this issue already, just point me the way and it can end with that...

Technically, the great debate was over the adamantine bonus and did it apply v. DR. And while debating this it expanded into the often vague nature of 'enhancements'.

We do know the enhancement bonus from Adamantine doesn't defeat DR, by the rules. , so the natural enhancement given by adamantine is not the same as the enhancement given by magic. Aside from this, it seems reasonable and logical to say if you want to add a magical ability onto a weapon, the enhancement should be magical.
