The PC's in one of my games are investigating the possibility of making a submarine... Technologically speaking, I have not problem with this - my world is more steampunkish than standard, with guns, etc.
I was thinking of approaching it like a Folding Boat - same size, capacity, etc. The Folding Boat costs 7,200 gp. The other guide I have is the Apparatus of Kwalish - which costs 90,000 gp! What I have in mind won't be able to do some of the things the Apparatus can (like attacking), or go as deep, but it may be able to handle longer distances (haven't decided on that - I may approach it as more of a bathysphere sort of thing than a long-distance sub).
I'm thinking of simply doubling the cost - or adding the cost of an item of waterbreathing (15,000 gp), which would put it in the 22,200 gp range. Any thoughts?
