item creation

When using wondrous item creation what types of items fall under the "miscellaneous items" title. Like take an ordinary silver ring with no abilities. it is already forged so would you be able to imbue it with the wonderous item feat or do you need forge ring still. Same goes for things like armor. if i want to imbue some studded leather that already exists with a "fly" spell does it require the armor feat or can i use my wonderous item feat?

In general, you are limited to the items as listed in the rulebook. It's important to remember that inventing your own "new items" counts as a rule variant (3.5 DMG p. 214: "Variant: New Items"). Anything that isn't in the book is up to your DM to decide if he wants to house-rule into his game, so ask him.

Most DMs would certainly call new magic rings "Craft Ring" items, and magic armor "Craft Armor" items.
