I'm trying to track down an item that someone in my group has seen but can't remember where. Its effect is simple: it increases the amount someone can carry (boost strength for carrying capacity only). Anyone remember this item and where to find it?

Not the answer you want, but an answer:

Heward's Handy Haversack is a great way to increase the amount someone can carry, though it does not increase strength for carrying capacity only.

Heward's Haversack would be nice, but this character needs to be able to carry this stuff on his person (i.e. weapons + armor + low strength) but doesn't want to pay the hefty amount for boosted strength, just boosted carrying capacity. I'll take suggestions on how to cost this item too...

I've never heard of an item that boosts Str just for carrying. You could make one, though.

I'd price it exactly like the bags of holding. A ring that lets you carry the same amount of stuff as a bag of holding type 1 costs the same as a bag of holding type 1. Maybe increase the price 50% for being so different, but.

A Bag of Holding is probably more useful anyway. Otherwise, you need to figure out where you're carrying all your items.

There was a pair of boots available in a core Living Greyhawk module (i.e. not standard rules) that doubled your carrying capacity. They cost 2000 gp. This is still an active module, so I won't reveal which one it is.

Any chance that this is what you were trying to remember?

I doubt this is the item he was thinking of since we've never run a greyhawk module before...
