Ivid sneaks into ENWorld/Ravenloft: Staunton Bluffs

 Hello,

After silently sneaking around ENWorld for quite a while, I finally find the courage to ask you experienced pros for advice.

I am planning a PbP campaign this fall that shall take place in the small domain of Staunton Bluffs in Ravenloft.
Now my question is, since it will be the first PbP I DM, can you help me finding some source where I can find useful rules that I can use for my game?
And (second question), since I believe that Staunton Bluff was mentioned only in the famous BB and in *Islands of Terror*, a booklet which I don't own yet, can you help me finding useful info for my campaign?
Also, if you already dungeoneered there, what are your experiences?

Thank you in advance,

Ivid aka Rafael

Do you have the 3e or 3.5 ravenloft books?

It is not essential that you do, just make alignments undetectable, no escape magic out of closed domains or the demiplane itself, and summoned creatures are evil and don't return after their summoning, just loss of magical control for the caster.

I wouldn't worry about horror, fear, or madness checks, or do will saves if you want to include them (although fortitude works well for fear as tough classes should be brave over wimpy bards and wizards).

For pbp check out the playing the game forums with the talking the talk for recruitment and out of character discussions, and playing the game for the actual game. Look over some existing pbp games to get a feel for them.

:D Thank you for your quick reply!

I am already an experienced RL DM, although my collection of books is a total patchwork:

I rely on the BB, the 3.5 PHB, DoD 3.5 and various other books from several editions.

In my campaigns, I expect my players to follow my view of the setting, which gives the respective DLs even more power and makes escape against their will almost impossible.

Regarding to PbP, I'll check the boards you recommended me then.

Again, thank you very much! If you feel interested in the game, just head over to the Fraternity of Shadows to get some update about the project from time to time!

And that's how it turned out...

Have we met on an earlier occasion or is it that the tales of my villainy have yet reached ENWorld? :) BTW, I checked your website - nice stuff you present there. :)
I think he's referring to Ivid the Undying of Greyhawk fame, which I assume is where you got your username from.

Oh yeah... ;) But no, my username doesn't come from world's vilest animus, but from my long-time Greyhawk and Ravenloft character, Ivid the Bowman... Who in fact, was named after that infamous overking... :)
