Sounds good. You know what time yet? Also, what is the kid situation as far as anyone watching them or any other kids in the house to play with? I can leave mine at my parents for a while...

Time is usually 2 pm until 8 or 9. Amanda provides dinner most of the time. My kids won't be here, but that doesn't preclude yours from coming or from anyone else bringing theirs. Maybe Jason can bring his little girl or something.

Time is negotiable, so we can start earlier/later and end earlier (I would rather not end later).

That works for me. Any other thoughts on the matter by the others?

Well, I am up for playing whatever. I would prefer to play something that wouldn't require me to buy any new rules. I'm a little concerned about the low-magic fantasy ideas we have tossed around before. I'm really not that enthused about a fantasy world with virtually no mages, priests or magic. After playing on New Year's Day, I think a game that was pretty close to old-school D&D, with wild adventure and crazy stuff happening, would be pretty enjoyable.

I, too, want there to be a motivation beyond money and leveling up. I like magic. I just don't think it needs to be over-done to be interesting.

My issue with magic only happens when spells and items completely remove the need for characters to actually have skills. There are plenty of magic systems out there that are useable and do not destroy the need to have, say, the Heal skill, or the Jump skill. I also don't want the game to have a video-game feeling.

I like magic too. I just don't want the characters defined by their stuff. They should be defined by who they are and by their skills. I also am very tired of levels. I also prefer magic be impressive, not mundane.

Inzeladun will have magic.

I think my character Zepe is a good example of magic working, but being overdone. He had a clear persona and he was very fun to play as a golem master, but he just had too much stuff! I didn't complain about it because it was fun to have that much stuff, but it just wasn't necessary. I could have had fun with a fourth of the gear, and ultimately I probably would have been more creative in my problem solving if I had had less gear.
