January to April 2006 Catalog - WOTC

Kapture

First Post
I walked out of the office to get to the desk, and lo the liberry elfs had dropped a copy of the aformentioned catalog on top of a little pile of publisher catalogs. Never seen one of these before, and never seem to see scoops based on them. I'm a little giddy that I might have a SCOOP! Please don't crush or belittle my sad desire to feel important.

Things I found interesting:

30 Years of Adventure is coming out in paperback. I liked the hardcover, personally.

Races of the Dragon has a very nice cover.

Power of Faerun sounds very interesting:

"This supplement introduces new options to players and Dungeon Masters as well as guidelines for starting a temple, running a guild, leading an army, serving the crown, and participating in political intrigues." Sounds widely applicable.

There will be a new starter pack for DND minis in March? To go along with the War Drums set. It will have 10 randomized and 2 non-randomized miniatures (?), two double sided poster maps, and a spell template sheet.

Lot of Eberron novels coming out.

Don't have a scanner. And I'm working.

I'll try to type in specific entries if people ask. I am a reference librarian after all.

Don't let the boss see you (unless, of course, you are the boss)
:)

Are there any new adventures or environmental source books? Thanks!

Close enough to boss so it makes no difference (That's like asking for trouble, isn't it). Besides, I'm doing my job.

No environment books.

Adventures: The Red Hand of Doom "The First Coe DND adventure published in years." 128 pp. $24.95 MSRP.

Voyage of the Golden Dragon "Follows the previously released Eberron adventures..." 32 pp. $9.95

Tome of Magic

This one sort of interested me, but I probably won't buy it:

Tome of Magic introduces three new magic subsystems for the DND game. Any or all of these systems can easilly be inserted into a campaign. Pact magic gives characters the ability to channel lost souls, harnessing their abilities to gain supernatural powers. Shadow magic draws power from the mysterious Plane of Shadow. True name magic gives characters that learn and properly use the true name of a creature of object immense power over it. All three systems introduce new base classes and spellcasting mechanics. Also included are new feats, prestige classes, magic items, and spells. 288 pg hardcover. $39.95.

This sounds a LOT like the premise of the old 2nd edition AD&D High Level Campaigns Book, but which it really didn't deliver on for me. This could be a good sourcebook for pushing DMs to do more high-level gaming, if it's written well.

What months are these coming out? And what is "Coe DND?"
