The books chronicle events that have happened and those yet to pass; each cryptic page might detail a fate days, months, or years in the future. Shalfey, Elder Sage of the Tower of the Heavens, inherited the magic required to read these books from the line of sages who came before him—but this magic prevents him from turning more than one new page per day, allowing only a peek at the future. To keep the Books of Prophecy secret, the sages make a great show of the study and practice of astrology, pretending to divine the future from the stars.</p><p></p><p>A few days ago, Shalfey turned a page of his current Book of Prophecy and found it blank. Worse still, he found he now could turn the rest of the pages, which were also blank, save for the last. There, in clear words, the book foretold the arrival of a falling star—and the existence of a second set of Books of Prophecy possessed by a group of svirfneblin smiths. The elder sage resolved to plot the star’s course, recover it, and trade it to the svirfneblin for the second set of tomes.</p><p></p><p>In anticipation of the star’s descent, Shalfey sent his most trusted tower hands—martial artists sworn to defend the sages and obey their every order—to meet with Derwyth, a fellow star-watcher near the star’s estimated point of impact.</p><p></p><p>The door will lead you to near martial artists and a moorland. I got zeroed to twenty meters. The terrain of Tegefed Mountains is either mountains, hills, moorland or river. Once you get more than a hundred yards from the river the terrain is difficult. The Tegefed river flows north. But the river splits about 15 miles from the drop zone.</p><p></p><p>Creatures you should encounter are bugbears, ogres, boars, and bats. Some griffons, displacer beasts, and wolves have been seen.</p><p></p><p>Nafas, “Thanks DM. Get the second book, and the star. But if you get all three no problem. Please keep the murder of monks to a minimum. Good Carlton is here. Take over.”</p><p></p><p>Carlton the doorman, “Sorry the blue door can not open closer to the tower of heavens. The bird lady decides to fly high cover. The rogue activates his Psionic Phone and scouts ahead one mile. They head west to civilization on the map that Carlton gave them.</p><p></p><p>Book, “WHAT They were suppose to go to river and head east. They making this more difficult. The bodies are to the east.”</p><p></p><p>DM, “I will try to fix it.”</p><p></p><p>Due to the difficult terrain, they would not make to Cernant Valley but they did have three nice visions on their two days of travel. Arriving at Derwyth’s house after eight on the second night, they discover the door is locked. They decide to rest under the huge birch tree while the druid is out. Nick and Ardor notice the tree limbs are swaying blocking Eaden’s view of the stars. But not swaying with the wind. Nick hops up and yells at the tree.</p><p></p><p>Nick, “What is the problem tree. Can’t a person take a rest under you with out you getting in the way. I will punch your lights out. I will punch so hard you make like summer and fall. I will punch you.” The two eagles watching over the party face palm. Nick is pulled by the tail by Ardor, and pulled by the ears by Eaden off the tree. The Tree shifts.</p><p></p><p>Derwyth, “Nick have you been eating healthy. You seem to have too much sugars in your diet. It is making go crazy. Come in people. I saw the star fall. Let’s gets some rest and we update each other in the morning.”</p><p></p><p>Just before day break Malakai’s warm fuzzy blanket shifts. She did not fall asleep with a blanket. Open one eye she sees a nice kitten face. Its huge tongue licks her on the face. The big eyes and saber tooth grin are not so welcoming. Malakai, “Um Druid. Help. It making biscuits on my feathers.” Derwyth calls Spot off the cleric and the group update each other. The star fell in Derro territory. It will take about two days to get there. The druid gifts the monk with three potions of healing and then looks at his character sheet. “You been forgetting your con bonus.’</p><p></p><p>On the second watch of the third day Malakai gets a visitor from a black robe wizard. He was asking about another adventuring party with had constellations on the arms. The cleric denies any information about the second party. The wizard said he check back in.</p><p></p><p>The morning after the visit the group finds the adventuring party of their visions. They are dead but the primary vision person is holding a bestiary. Nick that what other fancy people call a monster manual. Climbing in and out of valleys of Derro territory is a pain. Just before sunset they find the impact site. It hit smack dab in the center of a hill. On the north side of hill at the bottom is a finished worked entrance.</p><p></p><p>Ardor, “that is a trap.”</p><p></p><p>On the west side at the bottom of the hill a stream feeds into the hill.</p><p></p><p>Eaden, “Shall we enter that way?” Sunset falls as he finishes his sentence.
