Jedi mind tricks, smooth talking, and all that jazz.

I believe lying and deception are essential skills for a gamer. Tell me some stories about how you've used the power of words to confuse and befuddle your enemies, as well as your fellow gamers.

I don't know if this counts, but I had a character that had an alignment shift and was working against the party, and ended up killing a NPC party member (all in the DM's plan, mind you)... even the other players didn't realize it was my character until a few game sessions afterward.

Unfortunately, that was a few years ago, so I can't give you any specific conversations. ;)

In a 30 person live action Vampire game I got talked into playing in, I decided I wanted to get one of the other characters out of my House when I took over as its leader. I convined the player/character that in order to become a full member of the House he had to prove both his dedication to the House and his trust of it. In order to do this, he had to stake himself. (Which puts his vampire into torpor, a coma like state.)

There was absolutely no die rolling or powers used here. This was all done by roleplaying.

He tried to stake himself and failed. (The GM insisted on using the same rules for staking yourself as for trying to stake another vampire.) So, the guy tried again that same night and failed again.

Later in the session, which was the next night in the game, I convinced him to try yet AGAIN. This time he finally hit the heart.

That's when my NPC servant cut his head off with an axe for me.

I presented the fool's ashes to the Prince the next session.
