Jeremiah the RPG

First Post
Mongoose Publishing will shortly be launching the Jeremiah RPG line. My big question is, why? The idea (disease wipes out adults) is not new. Do we really need an entire RPG setting for this? Any GM worth the title could come up with a background for this setting. I just can't see the justification for this game. Am I alone in this view?

Who knows? Maybe there's tons of Luke Perry fans out there, just waiting for something like this.

Now if they were releasing a RPG of the Tribe I'd buy it in a second.

Easily the best horrible-plague-wipes-out-all-adults-on-Earth TV shows ever.

Maybe because Mongoose HAS gobble up numerous licenses? :)

Or Jeremiah was part of the deal to get Babylon 5 done? ;)

Who knows, if its good it'll sell. Ig not, well...you know. :p

What is "Jeremiah"?

(BTW: my opinion is that they are free to do what they want, and if it's a crap that doesn't sell, it's their problem.)

It's as science fiction show that aired last year on Showtime in the US. It's produced
by J. Michael Straczinski, the same guy that was responsible for Babylon 5, and has a similar spiritual/thoughtful cast to its sci-fi elements.

The basic premise is that a plague called the Great Death wiped out all adults 15 years ago, and the children have been struggling to survive and pick up the pieces. The title character's father some some government position, and hinted that he would try to get to someplace called "Valhalla Sector" to survive. Jeremiah is looking for that place to find out what happened to his father.

The Jimmy channel is showing it Fridays at 8:45 right now (VO, subtitled), but they're already 8 episones into the first season. Hopefully they'll rebroadcast it from the beginning at least once.

So this is all about a sci-fi world inhabited only by children?

Just let envision a Tough/Strong 18th level, 11 years old child in the Jeremiah d20 game!

Not children- remember that 15 years have passed and the eldest are around 25-27.

I have read it is based on a French comic book.

Wasn't the show cancelled or something? I enjoyed watching it, but i have my doubts that it would make a great rpg setting...

Wow.. funny that the guy from Paris, France, fails to mention that it was originally based on a French comic book. :P

Anyways, I for one would love to have that book.. the detailed world, and mystery, created in that brief lifetime make it more than worth buying.

In fact at one point I volunteered to playtest for them, which sadly they turned down, maybe because I was in South America.
