Jester Prestige Class?

Simple question. . .

Anyone know of a jester prestige class? Either in a published book by wotc or a 3rd party, or just homebrewed and on the web somewhere?

For those of you that think that is weird, I am looking for something like the old 1E jester NPC class they printed in Dungeon back in the day.

What is this "dragon compendium" you speak of? Was it a hard cover book that was put out or something with updated old Dragon stuff?

Also, I wanted a PRC b/c I wanted something for wacky bards/rogues/illusionists to work towards.

It's not that difficult to create a jester from the bard core class. Some perform on comedy, knowledge of nobility, diplomacy, and all. I do believe, though, that mongoose once released a jester core class for 3.0 D&D. You should look for it, at least as a source for a 3.5 version.

Dragon #330 has the Jester prestige class... not to mention a fantastic article on the Far Realm. For some reason those two go well together in my mind.

The one in 330 was great. Mongoose had one in their Quint Bard as well.

yes. from paizo publishing.


the old jester iirc was in the same Dragon with Duh Jock class.

I don't think the one in Dragon Compindium was and update of the recent one in Dragon #330. I think the class in DC was an update of a much older Jester class, though it does use the same pic.

They used other pics as well from recent dragon. For instance, the necromancer pic is a dragon 290ish pic of a drow wizard from Greyhawk setting.
