[Jew] Fantasy/D&D kippot

In fact, when I went to the Jewish Graveyard in Prague, I (a roman catholic) had to wear a kippah. It was paper or very thin cloth (I think). I was terrified that it would blow off. I hate being disrespectful in someone else's place of worship.

My memory is a bit foggy, but I believe the reason we had to wear them is that we had to pass through the Synagogue to gain access to the graveyard. It was a very solemn place.

Generally the protocol is that anyone, regardless of faith, ought to wear one when in a Jewish place off worship. It iis only weird for one who is not Jewish to wear one on the street (which only the more religious Jews do anyway).

Oh, I know. But if you've been circumcised and you want to convert to Judaism, they have to draw blood from your century worm. Youch!

Heh heh heh, this reminds me:

When I was about 12 or so, I went through a short phase where I wanted to have a Bar Mitzvah. I don't know why, seemed important at the time, up until I found out you have to learn this whole stupid made-up language called "Hebrew". Anyway, my father interviews a bunch of rabbis to find the right one for me. For some reason, he talked to an Orthodox Rabbi (My dad and I are about as Reform as you can get - at our last Passover seder, we ended up singing Springtime for Hitler from The Producers). This clown said that since my mother was not Jewish, I wasn't either, and I'd have to be re-circumcised.

I believe my comment at the time was, "If they take anymore, I'll have to have a Bat Mitzvah."

A lot of non-Jewish men have that done too. I was raised Southern Baptist and was circumcised at birth; it wasn't until I grew up that I realized that many men aren't.

On topic, I want to see a photo too. I didn't know you could decorate those things :)

If one isn't paying much attention that post looks wrong on so many levels.
