JLA/Avengers Comic Book

Hey, I've got a question for those of you up on your current DC Universe facts (unfortunately I'm more up on my Marvel Universe) - what's the deal with Aquaman's left hand? I was aware that it had been cut off and replaced with a harpoon, but am I correct in assuming that he's also got some sort of detachable prosthetic hand? I notice the harpoon isn't there all issue until the climactic showdown at the end. I'm hoping this is as it should be and not just a horrendous oversight.

No oversight. Aquaman did have a prosthetic hand as well. Of course, in current continuity, the harpoon and other prosthetics have been replaced by a hand of magic water. :)

Thanks, Mark - I figured as much, but wasn't sure. I've certainly seen plenty of similar goof-ups in my time: Curt Connors (the Lizard in his human form) drawn with two arms by mistake, people changing clothes (or racial makeup!) from one panel to the next, that sort of thing. Just wanted to be sure.

Oh, and a hand of magic water? What, kind of like the animated water form the movie The Abyss?

I still have the issue of "Comics Update" or whatever that industry magazine was that had an issue about Perez and the JLA/Avengers crossover, and why it didn't happen...
I wonder if Perez was able to use some of the art that he had completed for the story?
Not possible as the original artwork (like 22 pages) was sold sometime ago...

Buyer: Rob Liefied.

Seems awesome so far, well the artwork atleast, though I have no doubt Kurt Busiek can spin a good tale, though I've been a major slacker and have not read my copy yet.
