Jousting in the complete warrior questions?

Ok under the jousting rules in the complete warrior under the traditional joust with the blunted lances it says that they get double damage. Then it says under the variant with using normal lances it functions as normal mounted combat exept the bullrush and sunder attempts. I have some one saying that you still get the double damage but I say since it uses the normal mounted combat rules it shouldnt. What exactly is the rule saying here. Thank you for any help. Oh yes its on page 130.

They get double damage in both cases, because by the normal PHB rules you do double damage with a lance when charging on horseback. That's what the first reference in CW refers to (and says so, in parentheses).
