Judging the ENnies products

The only one I have of the ones you mention is Castlemourn.

The art in Castlemourn is hit and miss with me, so I'd have to disagree.

(Of course, it's art we're talking about, so it's hard to find a more subjective category.) :)

It's all subjective.

Qin: The Warring States. At least in the art categories. Other than that I haven't bought it, so I don't know. But I will be buying it, especially now that my family is on an L5R kick.

I actually was not as impressed with the stuff this year as I have been in past years. I've read all of it now even though I'm not a judge. There are some great products but not a lot of great ones.
I haven't been a judge for the last couple of years, so I have no idea what all was nominated. I do own most of the stuff that made top 5, and it was great, but I'd say calling this year's list unimpressive (which I know isn't exactly what you're doing) would be a real stretch.

I found a huge percentage of this year's entries to be extremely good, and most of them were very good reads. I'm hesitant to start naming favorites this late in the process because people might misinterpret them, but There are a number of reviews of products that shocked me with their quality. In fact, I'm writing another one for tonight's post in another window right now.

Er, yeah, I suppose you're right. :D

Nevermind then...carry on....

What's this!? Ceding that something is subjective.

What happen to that fiery spirit of "if anyone doesn't judge things the way I do, they are obviously inadequate judges and wrong with wrongsauce on top!"

Sheesh. The state of angry fandom these day...

;)

It's not that this year's stuff was unimpressive but it was less impressive then year's past.

I'm campaigning for a kindler, gentler EN World.

Group hug!

DaveMage. I think you just earned yourself a ban from the internet. You disgust me. :)

I don't envy you that. I'm having a heck of a time picking out just five products in most of the categories as is.

Funny, I thought things like Best Game, or Product of the Year would be the hardest, but things like Best Rules and Best Writing have been really tough. In a lot of ways they're broader, and nearly everything that was entered fits into one or both.
