Jumping in medium or heavy armour double whammy! OUCH

I just noticed this. wearing meadium or heavy armor hurts your jump as bad, if not worse, as as it does swim :confused:

JUMP (STR; ARMOR CHECK PENALTY)

Check: The DC and the distance you can cover vary according to the type of jump you are attempting (see below).

Your Jump check is modified by your speed. If your speed is 30 feet then no modifier based on speed applies to the check. If your speed is less than 30 feet, you take a –6 penalty for every 10 feet of speed less than 30 feet. Good grief. And I just got my jump check up to +0. Had no idea I had an additional -6 to contend with. I may need to take another look at a pair of Boots of Striding and Springing!
 

Don't waste resources working on Jump skill. Just invest in a cheap magic item that lets you fly or levitate, then Jump, Climb and Balance become useless. It's basically impossible to get Jump to a level where it's useful anyway.

Unless you take Leap Attack from Complete Adventurer. Not only does it let you power attack for x3, but it also allows you to charge over difficult terrain. That feat alone is enough to make Jump useful again.
