I really like the thamesfolk from fallout london so decided to take a crack at them.

Thamesfolk (Player Race)

Tainted by the pre-war pollution and post-war radiation of the River Thames, the Thamesfolk are a mutated people with aquatic adaptations, amphibious resilience, and unique biology. While shunned by some, their pacifistic nature and connection to their environment make them distinct in a world of chaos.

Ability Score Increase

  • Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Wisdom or Dexterity score increases by 1.

Age

  • Thamesfolk mature by the age of 10 and live around 60 years, although their mutations often cause unpredictable lifespans.

Alignment

  • Most Thamesfolk are neutral or neutral good, valuing peace and the health of their river home. However, individuals may stray into other alignments.

Size

  • Thamesfolk are Medium, ranging between 5 and 6 feet tall, with sinewy builds and webbed extremities.

Speed

  • Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
  • You have a swimming speed of 30 feet.

Amphibious Adaptation

  • You can breathe both air and water.

Toxic Resilience

  • You are immune to diseases and have resistance to poison damage.
  • You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned.

Aquatic Awareness

  • You gain proficiency in the Perception skill and have blindsight out to a range of 10 feet while underwater.

Mutated Biology

  • You can adapt to survive extreme environments. As a bonus action, choose one of the following effects, which lasts for 1 hour:
    • Thickened Skin: Gain temporary hit points equal to your level.
    • Camouflaged Scales: Gain advantage on Stealth checks made in natural aquatic or swampy environments.
    • Amphibious Sprint: Your swimming speed increases to 50 feet for the duration.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain all uses after a long rest.

Languages

  • You can speak, read, and write Common and Aquan.

Optional Traits for NPC Thamesfolk

For NPCs, you might also include variants like:

  • Pacifist: Thamesfolk are reluctant to fight, imposing disadvantage on their attack rolls but granting them advantage on Insight and Persuasion checks to de-escalate conflicts.
  • Thames Mutant (Variant): This version has aberrant mutations, like tentacle-like appendages or venomous spines, granting natural weapons or poison-related abilities.
