June 08 lvl 1 Campaign starters: What lvl are you now?

2/3 of our party is 4th and closing in on 5th
1/3 of our party is 3rd

We sit down to play together 1x per month (4 sessions IIRC including KoTS and a 4e version of Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh) and have also had two online sessions with part of the party participating. We're about to start a 4e version of Secret of Bone Hill.

My highest hit 4th last week. Most of the rest will join him tomorrow, the exceptions being two players who have both missed roughly half of the KotS.

We will finish the Keep either this week or next, depending on which way the party goes, My prediction is that they will finish exploring the second level before going down to the third. That's just the way we roll.

After that it will be break time for 4e. We will go back to our epic-bound 3e game. I get to be a player again, yay! I probobaly won't get to run Thunderspire untill sometime next year.

We started June 22nd and have played every Friday night (except maybe twice) for an average 5-hour session. Just finished KoTS and played through Kobold Hall before that. Everyone is 4th level.

Just hit 6.

We play a pretty combat heavy campaign. Lots of newbies, so I've been lessening the difficulty slightly by using the Dungeon Magazine sidequests to toss in some extra experience points here and there, keeping them just a shade ahead of the curve.

We've been playing since the last week of July, and they're 2nd level, less than a thousand xp from 3rd. We did the Scourge of the Rat King adventure (which raised them from 1 to 2) and then a few side encounters as I was prepping KotS.

We started early July, and they just hit 4th level. I converted the 'Ring of Thieves' adventure and ran that to get them up to 4th, which is where we were at the edition change. We're now back to regularly scheduled FR campaign.

Game number 1 (homebrew): Just hit 6th.
Game number 2 (KotS): just finished, at 4th, about to start H2
Game number 3 (KotS): one more session to finish, then home brew - almost 4th level

All started at level one within a week or two of June 6th.

Great thread--fun to see how everyone's coming along.

My game started on August 1 and we've played every Friday for about 4-5 hours a session. That's three sessions so far and the heroes just hit level 2. Good mix of roleplay and combat.

At first I was worried that they were leveling up too slowly, but I compared my encounters with those in KOTS and it's a favorable matchup. The PCs have had a total of seven combat encounters, a skill challenge, and the completion of a minor quest.

When I first got the books, I rough estimated it'd take on average 3 sessions to gain a level and ~90 sessions to move from level 1 to level 30, and at least initially, that estimate seems to be holding up for how I run games and how my players work.
