Just got ETools, already annoyed

Okay, I've found some features that I like, but Iv'e found more that annoy me. First, is there any reason in particular why windows aren't resizable so that I don't have to side scroll all the time? I'm also wondering why somethnig that is, at its heart, a database and DB interface, takes as long as it does to do anything? Now, I'm not saying we're talking minutes here, but I timed ETools against Soldier of Fortune 2 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein on my P3 800mhz 256 ram machine, and ETools took longer to load!

So far I've seen nothing to make me think anything other than "damn, why didn't I stick with one of the freeware gens?"

Hmm odd, you should be able to resize the windows, at least I'm able to. What JRE are you using?

eTools, not PCGEN folks.

eTools does not allow the resizing of windows.

I agree that is a pain.

But I do like the framework of the program.

Give it a try and let it grow on you.

Oh, and for the speed issue - Make sure you have the most up to date MDAC and Jet drivers from MS.

Look at the FAQ (a link is on the msn groups link page) on where to get those and other ways to tweak it for performance.
